The Impact of Mindset and Habits on Real Estate Sales Success

As a real estate coach and consultant, Shon Kokoszka knows that success in the Real Estate Sales industry is all about mastering the fundamentals. Unfortunately, many agents focus on the present, reacting to situations instead of proactively developing their skills. The result is often mediocre success, so Kokoszka reminds his clients during coaching sessions that it's all about mastering the monotony of Real Estate Sales business development.

Kokoszka emphasizes creating more conversations if you want more Real Estate Sales appointments, contracts, and money. He encourages his clients to become consciously aware of the number of Real Estate Sales conversations they make daily. To demonstrate this point, Kokoszka shares the story of a client on the East Coast who went from $2.5 million in Real Estate Sales volume per year to over $80 million per year through consistency. The client achieved this by showing up at Starbucks every morning, talking to the barista, and offering $1 discounts to the next 20 customers in line.

But it's not just about the number of Real Estate Sales conversations you have; it's also about the habits you form. Kokoszka explains that our minds are impacted by four things: knowledge, skills, mindset, and practices. He stresses that mindset is at least 90% of our success in Real Estate Sales, and habits are formed subconsciously rather than consciously. That's why it's essential to identify an activity worth building a practice around and apply 66 days of discipline to own the habit.

Kokoszka's evolution in Real Estate Sales involved:

  • Time-blocking every minute of the day.

  • Focusing only on the morning hours, and eventually.

  • Time-blocking the morning hours and letting the afternoon be whatever must happen.

He explains that willpower is like the battery power on a cell phone screen; the more complicated the Real Estate Sales task, the more quickly the battery is depleted. When will is finished, we default to our settings, which is why scheduling essential Real Estate Sales lessons for the morning is crucial.

In conclusion, Real Estate Sales success comes down to mastering the fundamentals, creating more conversations, and forming good habits. Then, following Kokoszka's advice, Real Estate Sales agents can achieve consistent success and build a thriving business.
